Ratatat - Wildcat

Ratatat is an electronic band from Brooklyn, New York, USA, whose members are the guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast.

Stroud and Mast originally met as students at Skidmore College, but did not work together musically until 2001, when their project was named Cherry (later the name of the final song on their debut album). Written and recorded in the bedroom of Mast’s Crown Heights, Brooklyn apartment, the band’s debut album Ratatat for XL Recordings was released in 2004. This album is entirely instrumental, except for excerpts of dialogue at the ends of some tracks. Ratatat has toured with bands such as Interpol, Clinic, Junior Boys, The Killers, The Faint, Daft Punk, The Shins and most recently Björk.

Their discography consists on:
-> "Ratatat" (2004);
-> "Ratatat Remixes Mixtape Vol 1" (2004), where they have several remixes from other artist's songs;
-> "Classics", from which the single Wildcat was taken (October 2006);
-> "LP3" (2008);
-> "LP4" (June 2010, although it was leaked online in late April).

The Boxer Rebellion - Spitting Fire (Live)

Aaaaand...i'm back once again. Sorry for the inactivity of the blog for the past few months, but now it's alive again.

The Boxer Rebellion is an alternative british band, formed in 2001 through a chance meeting at London’s 12 Bar Club between vocalist Nathan and guitarist Todd. They became housemates and began to write together. The college friends, Adam and Piers, soon completed the band, all of them sharing the same influences.

Their music is a mixture of rawkus bass-heavy grooves, alternately fragile and explosive vocals, and melodic indie/alternative sounds. So far the band have released:
-> “The Boxer Rebellion” EP (in 2003);
-> “Code Red” and “In Pursuit” (in 2004);
-> “Exits” LP (in 2005);
-> “Evacuate” limited edition vinyl (in 2008);
-> “Union” LP (January 11th, 2009 exclusively through iTunes, along with a worldwide re-release of “Exits”).
